Beacon of the Sentinels

2021 Pendleton, OR

Beacon of the Sentinels was commissioned to honor the five branches of the U.S. Military. The sculpture takes the form of a conical beacon of light that is surrounded by a stainless, star shaped canopy. Cut through the rusted steel skin of the “beacon” are the insignias of each of the five branches of military. Patterns cut through the surrounding stainless canopy project intriguing patterns of shadow and color onto the plaza below.
